I have overcome many challenges in my personal life that formed my determination to empower others. I currently manage a support service at a local charitble organisation. I have also worked in public health settings, within housing, substance misuse, youth work, race equality, mental health, advice and representation, and within schools. Working alongside individuals, families and the most vulnerable in our society I have good understanding, knowledge and passion to what matters most to us locally.
I am an active local Labour Party member and I am committed within the movement. I am a member of the CLP executive committee and the women’s officer, also I have served as an Educational and Awareness Officer. Regionally, I served as the youth representative of The Cooperative Party – Labour’s sister party. Nationally, I was vice chair to the national youth committee of The Cooperative Party and selected by the Fabian Society’s women’s network to be mentored by Labour Politicians from across the country. My work and political experience is proof of values and commitment to the Labour Party and local people.
